7Inappropriate Ways of Performing the Mourning
In Astara, it is a tradition that people strongly believe in that and it is in this way that: In the day of Tasoo’a (9th of Muharram) and Ashura (10th of Muharram) there is an Alam (a sign which is made of metals and is carries by a person during the mourning) in the hands of special persons that they roar (as people call) the Alam by performing some movements and even by attacking men and women and scaring children and they refer this to Imam Hussein (a.s.). People gather around that and they say that Alam moves the person with it. When Alam injures a person it means that this person is a bad one or has doubt about the Alam. Unfortunately, Alam roars in the hands of caddish persons and sometimes injures the believer persons. We ask for your opinion about this matter.
Mourning of Imam Hussein (a.s.) is one of the important motives for strengthening the religion but it should not be polluted with these incorrect acts that hurts mourners and vilifies respectful persons.

In these conditions, it is necessary for followers of Ahl al-Bait and those who love Imam Hussein (a.s.) to abstain any act that vilifies this ceremony and instead of them to go for ceremonies that shows the greatness of goals of Imam Hussein (a.s.) more than anytime, and if some of previous Faqihs has permitted some of these acts in their age if they were living in our time then they surely had other opinions. This Nazr is not correct because in Nazr the preference of the act is a condition and this act is not free of problem, considering that gives pretexts to enemies of Islam to attack all the matter of mourning of Imam Hussein (a.s.) which is one of the best acts for closeness to god, and if we assume that this act is preferred then performing Nazr about another person is not correct.

Is it permissible for threnodist of Ahl al-Bait (a.s.) to negotiate the wage for expressing the superiorities and sorrows of Ahl al-Bait (a.s.)?
